A wave of terror swept through the Shendai community in Quaanpan Local Government Area of Plateau State on Saturday, when kidnappers stormed a home, killing one person and abducting four others. The attack has left the residents shaken and fearful, as the violence has intensified in recent times.

Christopher Manship, the Chairman of Quaanpan Local Government Area, confirmed the distressing incident in a statement released by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Danaan Sylvanus.

In his statement, he condemned the attack and called on security agencies to work urgently for the safe return of the victims. “The Executive Chairman of QuaanPan Local Government Council, Christopher Audu Manship, is deeply saddened by the loss and is urging security forces to secure the immediate release of those abducted,” the statement read.
The Chairman’s remarks highlight the increasing concern over the safety of the local population, as similar criminal incidents have been on the rise in recent months.

Ogunrinde Soji, the Namu Police Division’s DPO, and several councillors from the district.
The mission aimed to assess the damage, understand the impact on the community, and enhance security measures in the region. Manship visited the bereaved families, offering condolences and words of comfort.
