Two Catholic Nuns Kidnapped on Ufuma Road, Anambra

The Anambra State Police Command has confirmed the kidnapping of two Catholic nuns along Ufuma Road, Orumba North Local Government Area. The incident occurred on Tuesday evening while the nuns were returning from a vocational service meeting in Ogboji.

SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the police spokesman, issued a statement on Wednesday in Onitsha, confirming the abduction and revealing that a joint security operation was already underway to rescue the victims.

Ikenga also noted that the Commissioner of Police, Nnaghe Itam, along with the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of operations, visited the scene for a spot assessment. The police are currently working with available clues in an effort to identify the suspects and ensure the safe return of the nuns.
