Uju Kennedy breaks silence after Tinubu removes her as Minister of Women’s Affairs

Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, the former Minister of Women Affairs has spoken for the first time since President Bola Tinubu relieved her of her duties.

Kennedy-Ohanenye was removed from office on Wednesday in a cabinet reshuffle during a Federal Executive Council, FEC, meeting.

She was among five Ministers discharged from Tinubu’s cabinet.

Others also sacked were Lola Ade-John: Minister of Tourism, Jamila Bio Ibrahim: Minister of Youth Development, Tahir Mamman: Minister of Education And Abdullahi Muhammad Gwarzo: Minister of State, Housing and Urban Development.

Following the President’s decision, Kennedy-Ohanenye posted a ‘Letter of Appreciation’ on X on Thursday morning.

“I write to express my sincere gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the opportunity to serve as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. It has been an honour and a privilege to contribute to the development of our Nation.

“I would also like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, for her invaluable guidance and support during my tenure as Minister of Women Affairs. Her kindness and encouragement have been instrumental to my success.

“To the people of Nigeria, I am deeply grateful for your unwavering support. Your trust and confidence in me have been a constant source of inspiration.

“I remain committed to serving my country and will continue to do my utmost to contribute to its progress and prosperity.”

DAILY POST reported that workers believed to be employed in the Ministry of Women’s Affairs, were seen jubilating after Tinubu announced the sack of Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye.
