VIDEO: Collect your PVCs and vote for APC, says Atiku’s wife
Titi, one of the wives of the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party for the 2023 elections in Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar, has been spotted in a viral video saying Nigerians should vote for the party in power, All Progressives Congress.
Nigerians were quick to recollect a similar slip by the presidential candidate of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The former Lagos State Governor had at a rally of the APC shouted: “God bless PD… APC,” at the end of his speech in Jos, the Plateau State capital.
In the viral video of Titi Abubakar, she said, also at a rally: “By the 25th of February, everybody should come, if you have not collected your PVC, go and collect your PVC… we should vote APC.
“APC promised to do so many things for the country but we can see ourselves now the way we are.”
However, she immediately corrected herself.
The spokesman of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Festus Keyamo, who put up the video on his Twitter handle, said it was obvious that Titi Abubakar only slipped.
Keyamo, the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, tweeted: “…In all honesty, this is obviously a slip of tongue, but we hold the view that it is unreasonable to make a mountain out of such molehills, especially when you quickly correct yourself!”
