Warning to NLC and TUC: Stop politicizing the labor movement, says Keyamo in response to the strike.
The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has urged the striking labor unions to refrain from politicizing the labor movement. Keyamo issued this plea in an official statement released by the Ministry on Thursday.
In response to the labor unions’ decision to shut down flight operations to Imo State following an attack on the NLC president, Joe Ajaero, members of the unions blocked the entry and exit points of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, causing significant traffic congestion.
Expressing his concerns, Keyamo called for order within the unions, emphasizing the economic significance of the Nigerian aviation industry to the country’s development. He warned that the aviation sector should not be targeted by striking workers due to its crucial role in the nation’s economic progress.
