Yobe State Unveils Major Infrastructure Project: 197 km ‘Green Line’ Road for Farmers

The Yobe State government is set to construct a 197 km road known as the ‘Green Line’ as part of the state’s Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP). The road will connect farmers to markets and facilitate better access to vital agricultural resources.

Arc Musa Suleh Damagum, the project coordinator, revealed that the construction would span from Garin Alkali in Bade Local Government Area to Mutai in Gujba, crossing the federal road at Ngelzarma. This new road will cover all three senatorial zones of the state, further promoting agricultural growth and food security.

“This road, which we termed ‘The Green Line,’ crosses all three senatorial zones and will ensure farmers have market access, ultimately promoting food security,” Damagum said.

The initiative, which is part of a broader infrastructure strategy, includes the RAAMP’s upcoming 500 km of rural roads across the state. Governor Mai Mala Buni has prioritized these road projects to connect all 178 wards in Yobe with viable access routes.
