The Special Adviser on Political Affairs to Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State, Alhaji Illiyasu Buhari Maijega, has called for enhanced security support from the Federal Government to tackle the escalating banditry in the state. Speaking to journalists at his office in Gusau, the state capital, Maijega emphasized the urgent need for more effective security measures as banditry continues to ravage Zamfara.
Maijega explained that addressing the security challenges in the state requires collective action, noting that no single individual can resolve the widespread insecurity alone. He underscored the importance of cooperation among all levels of government and security agencies in the fight against the criminals terrorizing the region.
He urged the people of Zamfara to remain hopeful and continue praying for peace and stability, highlighting the fundamental role of peace in any society’s development. Maijega also commended the Nigerian Army and other security forces for their ongoing efforts to combat banditry in the state and encouraged them to maintain their dedication to ensuring the safety of the people.
Maijega’s comments reflect the state’s ongoing struggle with insecurity and the need for both local and federal authorities to intensify their efforts to eliminate the activities of bandits and restore peace to Zamfara.
