“Zamfara Village Resists Bandit Attacks Thanks to Powerful Yansake Defenders”
Bandits terrorizing Zamfara State have reportedly confessed that they avoid operating in Kauri community, located in the Kaura Local Government Area, due to the strong spiritual powers of its residents. According to Illiyasu Muhammad, a local member, the village is home to many Yansake members—vigilante groups known for their spiritual and physical strength, which the bandits fear.
Muhammad explained that the Yansake group in the community is a significant deterrent to banditry, stating, “The bandits are afraid of our village because the Yansake members in our village will battle them.” While the terrorists have been wreaking havoc on nearby villages, they have been unable to infiltrate Kauri.
He recalled an incident when several bandits were eliminated by the Yansake group after initially entering the village. “As I am talking to you now, no bandit can dare our village because they know our strengths, both spiritual and otherwise,” Muhammad affirmed.
This spiritual defense, combined with the vigilance of the Yansake, has made Kauri a stronghold against the ongoing violence that plagues many other communities in Zamfara.
