Doyin Okupe Calls President Tinubu’s Enugu Visit a ‘Game Changer’ for South-East

Doyin Okupe, a former presidential spokesman, has praised President Bola Tinubu’s recent visit to Enugu, calling it a “game changer” for the South-East. In a statement issued on Sunday in Lagos, Okupe highlighted the president’s open-hearted approach and genuine commitment to the region’s development.

“The visit of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to Enugu on Saturday is a major game changer,” Okupe said, emphasizing that any objective observer could recognize the president’s sincere affection for the South-East. He pointed out that Tinubu spoke candidly and made significant commitments to support developmental projects in the region.

Okupe, who served as the Director-General of the Peter Obi Presidential Campaign Council, expressed that the South-East truly deserves the attention and support of any fair-minded president. “Any Nigerian of goodwill would commend Tinubu’s genuine good gestures to the South-East,” he added.

Reflecting on the importance of national unity, Okupe invoked the words of the late Igbo leader, Chief Odumegwu Ojukwu, who famously stated that “the absence of an east-west political alliance is a potential existential threat to the unity and stability of Nigeria.” Okupe urged President Tinubu to continue his efforts in building bridges across the nation while addressing the economic needs of the people, to ensure political stability and peaceful coexistence.

During his visit to Enugu on Saturday, President Tinubu inaugurated several projects initiated by Governor Peter Mbah, including 30 smart green schools, 60 primary health centers, and a 19-kilometer stretch of road connecting the Airport-New Haven-Bisalla and Okpara Square. In his remarks to stakeholders, Tinubu also emphasized the necessity of removing the petrol subsidy, stating that it was a crucial step in building a stronger nation and securing the future of generations to come.
