Election: Abuja CP, other security heads meet party leaders, sign peace accord

Ahead of Saturday’s presidential election, the Federal Capital Territory, FCT Coordinating Assistant Inspector-General of Police, AIG Dr. Aishatu Abubakar, the Commissioner of Police CP Sadiq Idris Abubakar and other heads of security agencies have met with party leaders.

The meeting which was aimed at ensuring peaceful poll, devoid of security hitches across the Territory, took place on Tuesday.

In a statement by the FCT Command Spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh the Chairmen and candidates of political parties, members of the youth council and strategic stakeholders were part of the meeting.

She said the stakeholders discussed practical options to ensure peaceful and credible elections in the FCT.

The participants, according to the statement, also signed a peace accord in preparation for the general election.
