Gunmen kill Taraba monarch

The traditional ruler of Chanchangi, in Takum local government area of Taraba state, HRH Alhaji Tanimu Kunbiya, has been killed by gunmen.

The dastardly incident reportedly happened along Takum-Chanchangi road.

The monarch was said to be returning from a funeral service in Takum when his assailants struck.

The governor of Taraba State, Dr. Agbu Kefas, confirmed the incident in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Digital Communications, Emmanuel Bello.

Kefas described the incident as barbaric and instructed security operatives to go after the perpetrators.

He also empathized with the bereaved family and the people of the community.

He assured of his administration’s resolve to ensure the state is rid of banditry and every form of criminality.
