“I was at Honourable Justice Folami Court at Ikeja today. The Courtroom was locked till about 10am.
After standing outside the Courtroom for so long a time with the courtroom door locked, I decided to seek solace and comfort at the adjoining Courtrooms and found one open.
I greeted the seated officials in the Court and sat down in wait of my Court to open its doors. I was surprised when one of the registrars told me that the judge gave a standing order that Lawyers who have no Matter pending before the Court should not sit inside the Courtroom even when the Court was not sitting.
I asked her why such instructions and if it is a written instruction or verbal instructions so that I will know how best to lodge a complaint to NBA as I find the directive (If such is in existence) highly discriminatory against lawyers.
While she was trying to answer me in the best of words, her colleague who is a male started shouting at me, saying that it is THE LORDSHIP ORDER and I have no right to question it but should simply walk out of the Court as directed. I told him he has no right as a public servant to talk to me in that manner because I want to understand the reasoning behind such order but he stood up and to my greatest shock, opened the Court door and told me to get out of the Court room.
I was dazed by the uncultured conduct and I dared him to take me out since he had opened the door.
The reason why a lawyer in his regalia cannot be allowed to sit in an open and vacant Court room to the extent of granting the staff the capacity to throw the doors open and command a Lawyer to get out of a courtroom calls for concern and probe.
If we are not welcome in Court, where else can we find solace?
I hope NBA IKEJA BRANCH should verify this issue please.”

After a written Complaint to NBA, no action was taken till date over the issue
