JUST IN: Tribunal affirms Cornelius as Plateau Assembly member

The Plateau State Election Petition trial tribunal sitting in Jos has dismissed the petition filed by Maiyaki Theodore Bala of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for lacking in merit and affirmed Cornelius Doeyok of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as duly elected member for Qua’an Pan South constituency of the House of Assembly.

Justice Emmanuel Nwazunku Phd, who read the judgment, held that the PDP held a repeat Congress in Plateau State on September 25, 2021 in compliance with Hon. Justice SP Gang judgment delivered on November 26, 2020 and had valid structure to nominate and sponsor the 2nd respondent.

He further holds that the petitioners are members of the APC crossing into the affairs of the 3rd respondent (PDP) and distracting its activities
