Legal Practitioners Scale of Charges A huge Joke Lawyers shouldn’t Rejoice Yet – Lawyer Iko-Ojo Esq Declares

A legal Practitioner, Umoru Theophilus Iko-Ojo Esq has declared the newly introduced scale of Charges for Legal Practitioners as a huge joke and a “paper tiger”.

Writing on the Lawyers Facebook group, Iko-Ojo Esq stated that most average Lawyers will never comply with the Scale of Charges.

He also stated that Lawyers are justified to charge below the scare of Charges because the welfare of Lawyers is not considered when the welfare of the Judiciary is considered.

Iko-Ojo Esq suggested that the NBA should go beyond monetizing stamp and seal, Practice fee and holding expensive NBA Conferences and ensure that lawful provisions of the law are made to ensure that Legal fees are paid into the NBA Account for onward remittance to the lawyer especially for Land Documentation.

See the Statement Below:

The So called scale of Charges for Legal Practitioners is a huge joke?!
First, most average lawyers will never comply with it.
Secondly, Even if you make the Legal fees for Legal Document 2percent. Some lawyers will charge 1% and please it isn’t their fault.
The welfare of Legal Practitioners have often taken the back stage when it comes to the Judiciary. It is always about the Bench! Renumeration of the Bench and bla bla and funny enough it is the NBA that fronts it. Such “high service” have been grossly detrimental to the Bar. As if only the Bench makes the Judiciary.
In other to make legal fees for Legal Practitioners Uniform, let the NBA go beyond monetizing seals and practice fees and beyond holding expensive NBA conferencs to ensuring they glamour for necessary Lawful provisions of the Law to ensure , legal fees by clients esp for Land Documents are first paid to the NBA account’s before onward remittance to the Lawyer in question.
This is the way to go.
The So called new Renumeration is only a “Paper Tiger” and nothing more. Legal Practitioners should not excited yet!
