Marriage Proposal Rejection Crime: ASP Prince Akhindenor absent from court as his Lawyer files Fresh Criminal Charge against POS Operator
It was not a pleasant Christmas celebration for young POS Operator, Miss Gloria Benjamin, who was arrested and is currently standing trial for rejecting the marriage proposal of a powerful Abuja Assistant Superintendent of Police, ASP Prince Akhindenor, as she faced another criminal charge from the Lawyer of the ASP, Barrister E.E Ekpo when the trial came up on 19th December 2023.
At the resumed trial of the POS Operator on 19th December 2023, the absence of the ASP Akindenor made it impossible for the criminal trial for rejection of marriage proposal to continue and the court adjourned the trial to January 2024 for the continuation of the trial.
However, Miss Gloria Benjamin was arrested by policemen as she was leaving the court and slammed with another criminal charge by the lawyer of the powerful ASP Akhindenor, Barrister EE Ekpo for defamation.
According to the new charge sheet seen by our correspondent, the lawyer is asking the court to punish Miss Gloria Benjamin for allowing Lawyers News Blog, Lawblogng.com to publish her arrest and arraignment for the criminal offense of rejecting the proposal of the powerful ASP Akhindenor.
The lawyer in the charge sheet falsely claimed that the POS Operator published a story on www.lawblogng.com where she accused him of collecting bribe.
It will be recalled that Lawblogng.com had published an exclusive story of how the powerful ASP Akhindenor arrested, and dragged Miss Benjamin to court for rejecting his marriage proposal and how Karu Nasarawa Court officials ignored Nasarawa State Criminal Procedure Law in the trial of the POS Operator.
