Police Recover Three Explosive Projectiles in Maiduguri, Preventing Possible Blast

Police operatives in Borno State successfully prevented a potential explosion by recovering three explosive projectiles in Maiduguri, the state capital. According to a statement from the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Nahum Daso, the projectiles were found in the Dala Kafanti Area on January 2, 2025.

The discovery followed a report from Asabe James, a local resident, who noticed a suspicious sack containing unidentified items behind her house. Upon receiving the information, the police’s Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team swiftly responded, cordoned off the area, and conducted a thorough sweep, recovering the projectiles.

Initial investigations revealed that the ordnance had been dropped by unknown individuals early that morning. In response to the incident, the police have launched a public awareness campaign, educating the community on Explosive Ordnance Risk Awareness (EORA) and the necessary safety measures to take in such situations.
