Sit-at-home: Enugu directs schools, markets to open on Monday

In view of the recent ban of Mondays’ sit-at-home, Enugu Government has urged residents to go about their normal businesses on Monday and every other day in the State.

The government, which had swiftly withdrawn an earlier threat to shut down markets, schools and the rest that fail to open on Monday because it did not reflect the true position of government, directed all schools, markets, banks, retail outlets, hospitals, transporters, malls and the general members of the public to go about their normal businesses and activities every day of the week, including Mondays.

In a statement is by Governor Peter Mbah media office, the government directed everyone to comply with the directive as adequate security measures had been taken to guarantee their safety.

It said members of the government’s taskforce would be moving around to monitor compliance

It urged the residents to join hands with the government through the directive to build a peaceful, secure and prosperous Enugu State together.
