Suspected militant group reportedly attacks boat, kills two in Bakassi

A suspected militant group believed to be the Black Marines, operating in the Atabong East high sea, Idabato subdivision in the Bakassi Peninsula has reportedly attacked a speed boat and shot two persons dead.

 

A reliable source in the area told our reporter that the incident happened Thursday morning.

Another added that the militants also carted away helmets and other items meant to be delivered to oil workers.

The sources said they are thought to be pro-Biafran separatists, adding that the boat belongs to some foreign oil workers.

They said the boat was conveying cartons of helmets to deliver to oil workers at the maritime border in Bakassi Peninsula.

The incident has left both Nigerians and Cameroonians panicking.

Authorities are yet to react to the incident.
