Woman seeks divorce over husband’s plans to marry new wife
A female judge is listening to two lawyers argue their cases
A house wife, Sadiya Bashir has sought for a divorce at a Shari’a court sitting in Rigasa, Kaduna over her husband’s plans to sell their house and marry another wife.
The complainant told court that her husband, Abdullahi Haruna does not provide food for her and her 10 children.
Haruna however, confirmed that he wanted to marry another wife but had no intention of selling the house.
He said that he had been providing for his family, based on his capabilities, stating that he had been living peacefully with his wife, until his plans of marrying another wife came to her knowledge.
The judge, Muhktar Mu’azu ordered the couple to present their witnesses in court on Nov. 14.
