CDS General Musa Declares 2025 as Year to Eradicate Banditry and Terrorism in Nigeria
The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa, has announced that 2025 will be a decisive year for Nigeria’s military in the fight against banditry, terrorism, and all forms of insecurity plaguing the nation.
General Musa made this declaration during his visit to troops of Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State, where he commended their efforts in protecting the country’s territorial integrity. The CDS urged the troops to ramp up their operations, emphasizing the importance of making 2025 the year that Nigeria effectively eradicates all security threats.
“This year, 2025, will be a decisive year for Nigeria’s security. We must make it the year we finally eradicate banditry, terrorism, and all forms of insecurity threatening our great nation,” General Musa stated.
During the visit, the CDS praised the dedication and bravery of the military personnel, emphasizing the need to maintain momentum in the fight against insurgency. He also inspected arms and ammunition recovered by OPSH and reviewed a guard of honour mounted in his honor.
In a demonstration of solidarity and commitment, General Musa joined Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division and OPSH Commander, in a push-up exercise with the troops, symbolizing their collective dedication to eradicating insecurity in the country.
