Ogun Governor Dapo Abiodun Mourns Passing of Business Mogul ‘Cash Madam’
The Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, has expressed profound sorrow over the death of renowned business mogul and socialite, Chief (Mrs) Adebisi Edionseri, widely known as ‘Cash Madam.’ She passed away on Sunday at the age of 89, marking a tremendous loss to Ogun State and Nigeria as a whole.
Governor Abiodun described the late Adebisi Edionseri as a pioneering entrepreneur whose legacy has left an indelible impact on society. He commended her remarkable contributions to the business world and social life, noting that she inspired many generations since the 1970s.
In a statement issued on Monday by his Special Adviser on Media and Strategy, Kayode Akinmade, Abiodun conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the Edionseri family, emphasizing that her passing is a monumental loss. He praised Edionseri’s resilience, ambition, and success, calling her a symbol of strength and accomplishment.
“On behalf of myself and the people of Ogun State, I extend our deepest condolences to the family of Alhaja (Chief) Adebisi Edionseri. Her passing is a tremendous loss, but her influence as a business pioneer and social figure will continue to resonate for years to come,” Governor Abiodun stated.
He further highlighted the late Edionseri’s exceptional achievements at a young age, which made her an inspiration to aspiring entrepreneurs and social leaders throughout the region.
“Alhaja Adebisi’s legacy transcends her lifetime. Her contributions to the business landscape and her vibrant social engagements will serve as enduring reference points. She touched countless lives and left an imprint that will guide future generations,” Abiodun added.
The Edionseri family, through a statement signed by Dr. Adebayo Adebowale, confirmed the passing of the 89-year-old icon following a brief illness. The family remembered her life as an embodiment of grace, dignity, and unwavering faith. They acknowledged that she instilled the values of love, resilience, and faith in Allah, leaving behind a legacy that will endure for generations.
As the family mourns, they also celebrate the extraordinary life she led, filled with warmth, laughter, and teachings that will forever remain in their hearts.
The funeral will take place according to Islamic rites on Monday, January 6, 2025, at 4 pm at her residence in Abeokuta GRA.
